Gingerbread Time – Children Christmas poem and song

The poem was written by me and my daughters. The art is Lilli’s

The Song

Don’t look with hungry eyes
At my yummy, yummy tummy,
I have sprinkles on my arms
And a gummy on my tummy.

(Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.)
Gingerbread is yummy,
(Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy)
On his tummy there’s a gummy!
(Gummy on his tummy).

But don’t bite, don’t bite, don’t bite,
Don’t bite my arm, though I’m yummy!
Don’t eat my yummy gummy.
Do not eat my body crumby!

(Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.)
Gingerbread is yummy,
(Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy)
On his tummy there’s a gummy!
(Gummy on his tummy).

(Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.)
Gingerbread is yummy,
(Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy)
On his tummy there’s a gummy!
(Gummy on his tummy).

Ideas for these images:

These images are meant to be poetry backgrounds which you can use to add any type of text to such as you can create greeting cards, images, your own social media posts, add quotes to, or use in any of those ways for homeschooling.

If you are a homeschooling parent who can use these graphics, then download all of the ones that you like and present one to your child, ask them to get inspired and see if they create something with it.

My daughter Lilli is not writing poetry into these right now but she is using them to create greeting cards, poetry backgrounds, they can be used for memes, jokes, anything.

In homeschool, they can be added as pops of color to any Christmas materials.

  1. Download the background
  2. Add your text on top
  3. If possible, share your creation back on X @evelovestar

If you or your child create something creative, consider sharing with us.

More Christmas content soo,

Alex – Children poetry created with the kids for homeschooling

It is fun, they help design, they practice rhyming, vocabulary, reading, they feel proud during and afterwards. There are so many benefits of writing or using poetry in homeschool.
